Valuchi is a Dutch watch brand founded in 2015 by Kelvin Dijkhuizen, combining Dutch craftsmanship with innovative design to offer high-quality yet affordable fine watches. Its flagship Lunar Calendar Series has raised over $270,000 on crowdfunding platforms, highlighting the brand’s unique appeal and market recognition. Their watches are praised for their superior craftsmanship, stylish design, and durable materials, making them an ideal choice for those seeking a balance of quality and design. Valuchi approached Naturality Digital to produce a product video for their new Expedition Series.

Valuchi’s watches seamlessly combine Dutch craftsmanship with the elegance of Europe’s rich cultural heritage, while catering to modern aesthetics and the needs of contemporary consumers. The new Expedition Series continues this tradition, offering a luxurious watch with casual elegance, suitable for a wide range of occasions. The client wanted the product to be captured in classic architectural settings, such as the historic city center of Milan, emphasizing the sophisticated character of the watch. Although filming in Milan’s city center might seem straightforward, integrating the brand’s deep traditions, culture, and values into the narrative and visuals, while resonating with its target audience, required more nuanced consideration.

After discussing with the client, we learned that the brand’s design inspiration is rooted in European history and culture, and its target audience primarily consists of young professionals with an appreciation for an elegant lifestyle. We combined the modern, refined lifestyle the watch represents with the deep European historical and artistic heritage. For the shoot in Milan’s city center, we selected iconic buildings rich in artistic history, highlighting the connection between the watch, the model, and the significance behind the architecture, emphasizing the timeless design of the Explorer Series. Additionally, to highlight the watch’s lunar calendar feature, we shifted the focus from the rising and setting sun to the phases of the moon, using the moon as a symbol to effectively convey the brand’s unique style and product features.
