After initially testing a multi-instrument bundle (formerly PartyKeys), the team decided to pivot and focus on a standalone, high-performance smart speaker designed for creators: PartyStudio.

The primary hurdle was a highly niche product definition: PartyStudio is designed specifically for users who already own or use MIDI keyboards, significantly narrowing the potential buyer pool. Early market testing showed high interest but low conversion, as the product’s value proposition required a specific user setup. Furthermore, with a limited number of physical prototypes available, we had to find a way to demonstrate the product’s “fun factor” and professional utility without relying on a massive influencer fleet.

We shifted the strategy from “mass-market reach” to “niche community cultivation.” First, we redefined the product as a “Portable Studio,” emphasizing its universal compatibility with all MIDI devices through high-end graphic and web design that reflected the brand’s professional pedigree. Instead of aggressive ad spending, we focused on High-Touch Engagement. We spent countless hours in deep, one-on-one dialogues with interested users—not just to “close a sale,” but to act as musical consultants. Our goal was to lower the barrier to music creation for those who felt intimidated by traditional instruments, staying true to PopuMusic’s mission: “Create Music Freely.” This organic, education-focused approach turned skeptical leads into a loyal tribe of advocates.
